Giving FAQs

Where Your Giving Goes
Your giving makes mission and discipleship happen. Every dollar given fuels the training of believers, preaching of the Word, and resourcing of gospel-centered ministries here in Irvine and beyond. Specifically they are used to support missionaries overseas, church planters we know and trust locally and abroad, as well as provide for our campus expenses, church leaders, and staff.

What the Bible Says about Giving
The Bible has a lot to say about our heart for giving, but the truth is that it doesn’t give any direction on the means for how to give. Throughout time and throughout different cultures the Bible shares a variety of different methods and means for how people would bring their tithes and offerings. Yet, God is no more impressed with the currency that we give than the amount we give. Instead, he is concerned with our heart for giving.

With that being said, IPC encourages sound tithing principals and biblical stewardship for managing our money and does not encourage using credit cards in a way that increases our consumer debt.

Secure Online Giving
We know how important it is to feel safe. That's why we ensure that all of your online giving and registrations are secured by our Secured Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. This provides the highest level of security when you give an online gift. Your credit card or bank information will stay safe with us.

Refund Policy
Contributions to IPC are considered to be non-refundable. Contributions may be modified or canceled any time prior to the contribution being processed. Once the contribution has been processed, however, it cannot be cancelled and is considered non-refundable by the IRS, who governs the tax exempt status of Irvine Presbyterian Church. The refund policy for specific events is determined according to the nature of the event. Please contact the event coordinator for information about the refund policy for a specific event.

Generosity and Giving is

Joyful – Giving is a matter of the heart. When we give, we do so in response to what God has already done in our lives, and it's with excitement that we give that we can participate in God’s plan to reach Irvine and the world around us.

Sacrificial Can you point to something tangible in your life that you don’t have/use/do because you’ve made a conscious decision to give to the church? Everything from the homes and cars we buy to the vacations we take are opportunities for us to live differently in light of our commitment to God’s kingdom and to identify as God’s kids.

Consistent – We ask our church family to give regularly. This can be weekly, biweekly, or even monthly. It's not only part of your discipleship, but in practical terms, helps us plan and allocate resources wisely. Our online giving system can help you start giving consistently.
